We Won! Why This Private, Dog-Friendly, Fenced Glamping Site in Wales Just Took Home an Award

We Won an Award! But First, I Thought It Was a Scam.

“Hello?”

“Hi, Beth. We’ve got some great news for you…”

Cue internal chaos. My inner cynic went straight to DEFCON 1.

Who gives you good news for free anymore? What’s the catch? Who even are you?

But then he said something I didn’t expect:

“You’ve been nominated for Best Welsh Glamping Experience 2025. A panel of judges reviewed your site, weighed up the guest reviews… and we’re delighted to let you know you’ve won.”

And just like that, I was almost crying on the phone to a stranger.

Running The Welsh Farm is the best kind of emotional rollercoaster. It’s exhausting and wonderful, relentless and rewarding. But we do it because we believe in it. We believe  you deserve a glamping break that’s wild, beautiful, human-free, and fenced in—so your dog can let loose, and you can finally B R E A T H E.

A huge thank you for nominating us, and to everyone who’s left a review, signed the guest book, or sent us kind words after their stay. We just filled up another full guestbook at The Hideaway—and it’s full of precious memories that remind me every day why we don’t have 50 tents in a field or back to back A frames!

That was part of a message from Flora, her spaniel is a reactive pup. But at the Country Yurt he was zonked out and sunbathing in peace. No other dogs, no other campers (strangers). Just them, the trees, and that wide open sky.
