Wild, dog-friendly and adventurous - but what if I don’t have pets?

You are in the right place: Find out exactly what your glamping stay at the Welsh Farm could look like.

Outside glamping, lights hanging from trees with pizza oven and outdoor fire under huge tree

“How many dogs do you allow? Is it secluded? What does secluded mean? We want to get lost in nature, relax and we don’t want to see humans or animals …”

We’ve got you covered. Dive into our FAQs - where all your questions will be answered. If you can’t find the answer quickly, email us and we will get in touch straight away. And add it to our FAQs!

The Welsh Farm is made up of three VERY separate sites. They are all in private, people-free spaces, where you won’t see another soul - unless you choose to.

We’ve kept the rustic vibe of camping and being one with nature. Light fires, flex your muscles and chop wood, it’s simple living. But at the same time we’ve added luxuries like hot tubs and electric heated blankets!

It’s perfect for people who crave disconnection and want that feeling of being light and free. In love, fully rested and at peace.

Glamping goodness.

Amazingly, the spaces we’ve created not only calm humans, but dogs, too. We wouldn’t want a staycation without our dogs, so we don’t expect you to leave them behind either. Reactive dogs included.

All the glamping sites will be fenced by:

1st May 2024 - Country Yurt and Chestnut Cabin

1st June 2024 - The Yurt Hideaway

In the same breath, if you don’t have dogs and like pet-free holidays, then the sites serve you equally well, as they are private and exclusively yours, you will get the peace and reset you came here for.

Yes, if you are bringing anything other than a dog, please email us to confirm the site is appropriate.

The cabin is single level, however there are steps and door thresholds into the accommodation. The bathroom has a step into shower. If you would like to talk through your needs, please give us a call.

Neither yurt would be classed as accessible for a wheelchair user.

What is the difference between the two yurts?

The Country Yurt is the larger of the two and sleeps 4. Cosy if it’s four adults, but works well for a small family. There is one king size bed and one small pull out double. The Country Yurt is set in a paddock with a separate vegetable patch and chickens. It gives wild homestead vibes.

The Yurt Hideaway is smaller, it only sleeps 2 (babies welcome). It tucked away on the edge of the woods, although the grounds are a similar footprint, it's full of trees and the view peeks out over fields.

Questions about dogs & reactive dogs at The Welsh Farm

Weimaraner lying next to pizza oven with blue sky backdrop

Is the site secure?

Yes the sites are fenced and gated. Unless your dog is a determined escape (burrower or jumper) artist, they’ll be safe and you’ll have peace of mind.

Will we see other people or dogs?

We have farm dogs, and although they stay with us, we can’t eliminate the chances of you seeing one, but they will not go inside your enclosed site.

You are unlikely to see any other people...

We are dog friendly and understand dog reactivity.

What is the fencing like?

The fence is 4 foot high, with 50mm x 100mm mesh (gaps smaller than a credit card). It is made from hot dipped galvanised wire.

Do you accept Banned Breeds?

No, sadly our insurance is linked to the farm and we are unable to cover or accept banned breeds staying on site.

Do you accept more than three dogs?

2 dogs are free of charge and a third incurs a charge of £25 for the stay. If you have more in your doggy pack, drop us an email.

Thanks for understanding!

Do you have a walk onsite?

The woods are open to the Yurt Hideaway, Country Yurt and Chestnut Cabin guests. As well as us as a family living on the farm.

If there are people or dogs in the woods, we ask you to flip the sign at the entrance to say so, on exiting the woods, please flip it back to empty.

With so few people onsite, we expect you never to clash with people, the sign is there to keep providing peace and people-free space for everyone on-site.

The walk is anything from 15 minutes to 45 minutes, depending on how much you stop, look and marvel.

Are you reactive dog friendly?

Reactive dog owners have had incredibly positive experiences at The Welsh Farm due to the nature of seclusion and privacy of each of our sites.

We do have our own farm dogs onsite, which we like people to be aware of. If you are walking to the woods, your dogs need to be on leads. There is a chance a farm dog could meet you on the track to the woods. If you are worried about if staying at the Hideaway, please drive down to the woods entrance, park in the dedicated space and walk from there.
